Yesterday the Dodger family suffered a great loss.  Willie Davis, former Dodger who patrolled the outfield and played on the ’63 and ’65 World Champions, passed away yesterday at the age of 69.

Though many remember Davis for his 3 errors in Game 2 of the 1966 World Series against the Baltimore Orioles, Davis had a stellar career with the Dodgers, and currently still holds the team record of hitting in 31 straight games in 1969.

Here is a link to a youtube clip of him making a cameo appearance on the famed Mr. Ed show, with Willie Davis making a cameo appearance along with Sandy Koufax, Leo Durocher, John Roseboro, and Billy ” Moose ” Skowron.  Willie, Johnny, and Leo must be laughing about this clip somewhere up there in that Dodger Blue sky……

  1. Hi Dodgerdrei,
The last time I spoke to Willie Davies was at the RBI(Riviving Baseball in Inter-cities) dinner last year.
    Rest in peace 3-Dog.
Thanks for adding me to your list! I’ll add you to my links too.
