Looking Back on the 1st Half…APRIL

Well, this has been quite a first half of the season.  Matt Kemp has been out since the middle of May, Dre hasn’t been healthy himself lately and will be out until next Friday, Our Boys in Blue recently endured a 2-11 skid, including a stretch where they we’re shut out in 3 consecutive games and in 4 of 5, in which during that stretch they scored a grand total of 2 RUNS !!!!  Yet we still find ourselves 1.5 games in front of the Giants for first place in the NL West !!!!

Indeed this has been an exciting 1st half of the season and the 2nd half should be even more exciting.  Like the rest of you , i’m most definately looking forward to the return of both Kemp and Ethier.  Anyways, here’s a rundown and some pics of game’s I went to , first, the month of April….

OPENING DAY, 4/10/2012

Opening Day, 1962

Opening Day, 2012.  Hey, I did my best to duplicate the moment 50 years later….

Opening Day.  A day that really should be a national holiday for baseball fans everywhere !!!   Kershaw would go a strong 7 but in the bottom of the 8th with the score tied at 1, Andre Ethier, celebrating his 30th birthday, would smash a go-ahead solo shot into the right field pavillion lifting the Boys in Blue to a 2-1 victory over the Pirates.  The Dodgers would go on to sweep the 3 game series over the Bucs, who at this moment hold a 2 game lead in the NL Central.
