Drei’s Game 5 Thoughts… Looking Back at Winner Take All’s… A Pre-Game 5 Tale From Kid N Drei

Leading Off, In the Junior Circuit…

Congratulations to both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals on advancing to the ALCS. Both teams had we’re on the brink of elimination with the Blue Jays rallying from an 0-2 series deficit to come back and win their series against the Texas Rangers. Their epic Game 5 saw a crazy 7th inning, capped off by this 3 run homer by Jose Bautista

Unlike Toronto, there would be no such drama in Kansas City as the Royals advanced to the ALCS for the second straight yearknocking out the Astros 7-2 behind 8 strong innings from Johnny Cueto, holding the Astros to two hits and two runs. Kansas City will have the home field over Toronto in a rematch of the 1985 ALCS.

Drei’s AL Thoughts… Big Flipping Deal ?

During that wild 7th inning in Toronto, you may have witnessed that ” sick ” bat flip by Jose Bautista. I really thought it was great given what was at stake. With so much riding on this game and series, emotions fly high. This really is no different than if a wide receiver scores a go-ahead touchdown with under a minute to go in a playoff game. On another note, while Jose Bautista is receiving well-deserved praise, at the same time, I don’t want to hear one more word if a certain Cuban Missile comes through with a clutch home run from this point on in the playoffs.

The Blue in Winner Take All Games…1981 and 1988

In 1981, the Blue would find themselves in 2 winner take all games, both times coming away winners en route to the World Series and an eventual World Title against the Yankees. The Blue have been in other winner take all games as well, their last coming in 1988 against, yup, the New York Mets. We all remember what happened in that memorable 7th game in ’88 with the Bulldog on the hill that evening…

The losing pitcher for the Mets, some current analyst for TBS, Ron Darling…. ( Withholding comment…)

OK, how ’bout one more trip down memory lane Dodgers fans…

gibson-hershiser Captain Kirk and The Bulldog…

Drei’s Thoughts Going to Game 5

Both teams will be throwing their ace out there so runs will once again be at a premium with Jacob deGrom matching up against our very own Zack Greinke. deGrom will be given the task of defeating two aces within less than a week in a pressure packed game. Zack is 10-1 at Dodger Stadium this season with a minuscule 1.46 ERA. Getting runners on base will be a huge key. Look for both teams to run more than usual to force the action. Each run will be huge. Only a trip to the NLCS is at stake, that’s all ? My Pick ? C’mon on now ? Do I really have to tell you ? All personal bias aside, I do expect a really close low-scoring affair…

So We Meet You Again In St Louie…

With the only LDS series tied at 1 , this ongoing feud between the Dodgers and Cardinals shifts to The Show-Me State for games 3 and 4. Hyun-Jin Ryu will take the mound for The Blue for the first time in 3 weeks against former Angel John Lackey with the first pitch scheduled just past 6.

RYU_PLAYOFFS

No Shortage of Drama

By now, we all know there is no love lost between these two storied franchises. If the first two games are any indication, this series should be primed for another dramatic finish. So far…

*Benches clearing after a hit by pitch to Puig from Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright

*An unforeseen offensive output from both teams with Kershaw and Wainwright toeing the hill in Game 1

*Kershaw surrendering 8 runs in the fateful 7th inning . Yup, I also thought Friday was money in the bag.

*Matt Carpenter continues to be a thorn to the Dodgers side in the post-season

*Matt Kemp showing he’s still clutch

*Mattingly’s moves being scrutinized once again

All this adds up to this series being tied at one. The biggest surprise so far , without a doubt Kershaw’s meltdown in the 7th inning of Game 1. With a 6-2 lead and already 8 strikeouts to that point, you just had to think the game was in the bag. But even a sure bet can come up snake eyes, as the Cardinals would score 8 times in that fateful 7th, capped off by Matt Carpenter’s bases clearing double and Matt Holliday’s 3 run shot off Pedro Baez giving the Cardinals a 10-6 lead.

The Dodgers would not go away quietly though as they would rally themselves thanks in large part to a 2 run shot by Adrian Gonzalez and a ninth inning rally that would come up 1 run short, with Puig striking out to end the game.

Game 2 would see the Dodgers take a 2-0 lead into the 8th inning when starter Zack Greinke, after going 7 strong would be pulled for lefty JP Howell. However, as they say , ” The best laid plans…” , and Matt Carpenter, once again, would show why he has been a thorn to our sides in post-season play…

A huge inning ending 6-4-3 induced by Brandon League would prevent further damage, setting up what could be the biggest moment yet in 2014 for The Blue…

I think it’s is now safe to say that the love/hate relationship some of you had with Matt as recent as 3 months ago is all positively love by now…

What are the keys for a Dodger win in Game 3 ? Will Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford break out of their post-season slump ? Does Hyun-Jin Ryu fell no effects of his recent injury and pitch deep into the game through at least 7 ? How much confidence does Mattingly have in his bullpen ? These are just some of the upcoming story lines as The Blue attempts to salvage at least one in St Louis, where historically, they have had a miserable time in the playoffs…

Dodger Blues in Mizzou…

1985 NLCS 0-3, Lost in 6 games

2004 NLDS 0-2, Lost in 4

2009 NLDS 1-0, Won in 3

2013 NLCS 0-3, Lost in 6

That, my friends, adds up to an overall mark of 1-8 in the post-season in The Show Me State. Now on the positive side. The Dodgers had MLB’s best road record this season at 49-32, so being in a hostile environment will should not phase them. One of these stats has to give. Let’s all hope for the latter. Are you all enjoying your Blue October yet ?

Our Pet Rally Minion Dave is ready !!! LETS GO DODGERS !!!

Looking Back at Drei’s 2014 AL Forecasts…

So another regular season is in the books. Around here, 162 games just wasn’t enough, and 4 teams here in the West Coast will be playing in the post-season. Since 2007, there have been 4 tie-breaker games, yet this year, game 163 was not necessary this year. So, looking back on this exciting 2014 season, how did Drei’sAL picks turn out ? Lets look back first on Drei’s AL Forecast .

What Drei’s Said about the AL East…

“Pitching will carry the Rays into October. Red Sox are primed for another October run, may be better than last years team. Baltimore got some heavy hitters in their lineup, they’re gonna need all that offense to back up a leaky rotation.”

Drei’s AL East Projections…

Final AL East Standings…

Tampa would dig themselves a huge early hole they could never recover from, while the Blue Jays would start fast before settling into the middle of the pack. The Red Sox would become the 1st World Champion team since the 1997 Florida Marlins to finish last in their division. A furious 2nd half would propel the Orioles to their first AL East title since 1997, and an era ends in New York. Thanks for the memories, Derek Jeter .

JETER

What Drei Said about the AL Central…

” Kansas City is looking to make a run at post-season play this year for the first time since 1985. Royals pitching had the lowest ERA in the AL last season and with some added offense October baseball is a strong possibility. “

Drei’s AL Central Projections…

Final AL Central Standings…

Though I did not pick KC to be one of the wild-card teams, I did say that October baseball in KC would be a strong possibility. Congratulations KC, on your first trip to post-season play since defeating the Cardinals in the 1985 World Series. The AL Central would be the one division I would come close to getting all my picks correct, ( Wait ’til you see how I picked the AL West…) with the White Sox and Twins rounding out the bottom. With the Twins occupying the cellar, Ron Gardenhire has been dismissed as Twins manager after 13 seasons at the helm .

What Drei Said about the AL West…

“2 managers could be on the hot seat in this division. Ron Washington, who has guided the Rangers to 2 World Series appearances, 4 consecutive 90 plus win season, 3 post season berths, the most successful manager in Rangers history, has certainly raised the bar within the organization and with that comes higher expectations…. Mike Scioscia, another manager in this division who has brought his team it’s longest run of success and is currently baseball’s longest tenured manager with the same team, could very well be on that hot seat as well…. King Felix will once again anchor the Mariners pitching staff, but the M’s, even with the acquisition of Cano, still have some questions on offense. “

Final AL West Standings…

And that’s why they are called, predictions. Sometimes, you’re spot on, most times, you’re more than a stone’s throw off. However, as far off as I was, my words of wisdom in April really we’re not that far off. I did say that Ron Washington was on the hot seat, and apparently the seat was a bit too hot amiss the brutal Texas heat, though his reason for his early September release was rather odd. The Mariners would win 87 games, finishing 1 game behind the A’s for the final wild card spot, a spot that was not decided until the final game of the season. King Felix was his usual dominant self, and as I said, the offense would have some questions. As it turned out for the M’s, lack of offense would lead to their demise.

Drei’s Wild Cards…

Final…

I did say Oakland would be one of the two wild-cards. I highly doubt this is what they expected after being as much as 30 games over .500 at one point in the season. How do these two stack up for the AL Wild Card ? With two experienced aces going in Jon Lester for the A’s and Scott Shileds for KC, runs should be at a premium. A packed house at Kaufmann Stadium should be rocking. Who does Drei pick to go to Anaheim ?

Extra Innings…

RFBullPenMarkerMinion He’s baaaaaack !!! He’s ready for October Baseball !!! It’s our Pet Minion Dave !!! Here he is perched above the visitors bullpen during an early season game in April. ( Heckling the visitors Dave ? Perhaps we should send you out there come Friday ? ) Dave can be a mischievous character, but the other night he proved to be quite a lucky charm . Do we have a Rally Minion in the works for the playoffs ?

Oh the excitement of October Baseball….

Drei’s Tales… The Magic of The Rally Pet Minion Dave

Wednesday, September 24th. The day started off like most normal days. The Pet Minion Dave giving his owner Drei some good company in his office . Dave is really excited. Dave knows that later on that evening, Drei is taking him out for a Wednesday night ballgame at The Ravine for a huge matchup with the hated ones. Dave is also excited because he knows this could be the night the Dodgers clinch the NL West with Kershaw on the mound. Dave is also excited because he knows he’ll get to see his favorite playmate, Uncle Marly, whom some of you may know from as, Kid Marly Marlz from past posts on Ballparks, Bytes and Bites

Marlz_Dave2 Minion Dave and his Uncle Marly

Marlz_Dave What mischief awaits these two ?

Wednesday morning, 9/24/2014. Starting the Dodger Blue Out early ! Our Pet Minion Dave keeping his owner Drei company in his workplace. Don’t let the doo-rag scare you folks. Dave is really a fun-loving and, at times, a mischievous character…

Boyz Night Out

MARLZ_JJ_DAVE Dave loves hanging out with The Boyz of Summer, JJ and Marly. Dave has really found himself quite attached to The Boyz, especially to Marly. Recently, he tagged along with The Boyz on a road trip to PETCO Park to see their Boys In Blue in action…

MINIONDAVE_PETCOPARK MARLZ_Dave_DodgerDogKid Marly Marlz, or to Minion Dave, Uncle Marly, and the Dodger Dog, enjoying each other’s mischievous, kids at heart like company down south…

Pet Minion Dave and his favorite Uncle Marly have really developed quite a bond. Last time out at The Ravine, before the evening ended, Uncle Marly was going all emo…

MARLY_EMOAwe. It’s OK Marly. You’ll see Pet Minion Dave once more before the season ends. Heck, the next time you two see each other, it just may be a special evening…. Looks like you’ve also developed quite a bond with other mascot friends Sourdough Sam, the SF 49ers mascot, and the Mariner Moose. . Just keep the Mariner Moose away from Sammy. Sammy isn’t very fond of the Moose’s favorite NFL football team…

Game Night, 9/24/2014, Time To Lock Up the NL West…

It’s Game Night ! Win tonight over the hated ones, and the Dodgers are the 2014 NL West Champions ! Of course, we had to bring our lucky Pet Minion Dave…

MALRZ_DAVE1 Our lucky Pet Minion Dave, reunited with his Uncle Marly. Looks like Uncle Marly has his game face on tonight…

DAVE_MARLY2 These two mischievous characters could not be more so alike if they tried. As the evening went along, Dave’s Uncle Marly , Kid Marly Marlz, would bring up the great time they had with Drei and JJ at PNC Park in San Diego…

Drei: PNC Park ?

Marly: Where we went in San Diego ?

JJ: That’s PETCO Park !

Drei: C’mon Marlz !!! Get your yard straight !!!

Speaking of JJ, as the game cruised through 4, Kid and Drei would surprise JJ, with the help of all fellow Dodgers fans in Upper Reserve 60…

Nothing beats being serenaded on your birthday at the old ballgame, right ?

Moving right along, with the game tied at 1 heading to the 6th, and Kershaw giving an MVP like performance, our lucky Pet Minion Dave and Marly Marlz , for some reason or another, get separated. But first, Kershaw’s MVP performance…

Drei: Yo Marlz, where’s Dave ?

Marlz: I thought you had him

Drei: Don’t tell me you lost Dave !

Marlz: C’mon Drei, he couldn’t have gone far…

Drei: How the ( insert word here) do you lose our Lucky Pet Minion ?

Marlz: Sorry Drei ! C’mon, let’s go find him…

Just as the top half of the 6th concludes, game still tied at one, we finally find our Lucky Pet Minion Dave finally turns up. Turns out, Dave was just hungry for a Dodger Dog or two…

DogsMinion

Drei: Marlz, you gotta take better care of Dave . Remember, he’s your favorite uncle…

Dave had us all worried there for a minute. Minion Dave has been a lucky charm for us, albeit a mischievous lucky charm…

The Start of The Magic of Pet Minion Dave, or Should We Say, Rally Minion Dave ?

Now that Kid and Drei have found our Lucky Pet Minion Dave, A Cuban Missile is ready to lead off the home half of the 6th, game tied at one, and a division title at stake. After falling behind on the count 0 and 2…

The solo shot by Puig would give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. The Blue would go on to add 3 more runs in the home 6th, and with 9 outs to go for an NL West crown, the Blue finds itself up 5-1. The Giants failed to score in the top half of the 7th, and now, it’s time to stretch, with Minion Dave and Uncle Marly leading the way…

If the hated ones did not have enough of Puig, Gregor Blanco would learn in the top 8th to never run on a Cuban Missile…

Once again, never run on a Cuban Missile. Hey Blanco…

What Happened ? ( The snippet courtesy of Jason with his band Red Sun . More from the JDozer and his band later…)

You may have noticed all this good fortune for the Dodgers has been happening since Kid Marly Marlz and Dodger Drei found our Pet Minion Dave. Drei is starting to think he could be our, dare Drei say it… Rally Minion for the playoffs ?

During the home 8th, as the Dodgers are en route to tacking 4 more runs to their already comfortable lead, with Drei calls the action for Ander Ethier. Dre hasn’t been able to call much action lately for Dre, with Dre being used mostly as a role player these days yet taking it in stride . Kid Marly Marlz and Minion Dave are really enjoying each other now…

Top 9 now, Dodgers up 9-1. Wow, 8 runs since our favorite little Pet Minion Dave turned back up. Drei is really starting to feel Dave’s magic. With one out to go ’til we clinch the NL West, here’s what it was like from our section, Kid Marly Marlz and Minion Dave leading Reserve 60 with the BUBBLES !!!

Our 2014 NL WEST Champions….

OK, maybe it wasn’t just the magic of Minion Dave that helped. But hey, makes for a nice light-hearted tale, right ?

DODGER_DAVE The birth of a Rally Minion in the making folks ? Dave certainly looks cute in Drei’s old worn Dodger hat. October baseball is coming. Dave is excited !!!

Oh yeah. The 2014 season was definitely a fun season. Like any baseball season with 162, it had it’s ups and downs, just like any great roller coaster ride. October baseball awaits. If all goes well, this ride will go through late October…

VIEJOS_BUBBLES JJ, Kid Marly Marlz and DodgerDrei. We may be ” Viejos”, especially the one on the right, but hey, no one is ever to old to play with bubbles…

MARLZ_BUBBLES Our Lucky Pet Minion Dave and his favorite uncle, Kid Marly Marlz, leading The Foam Party up in Reserve 60. As Always Kid…

Magic Number Fun Fact…5

In spite of a strong start powered by 2 Adrian Gonzalez home runs driving in 5 runs, the Dodgers were unable to hold onto a 7-2 lead at Wrigley Field, falling late to the Cubs 8-7. In spite of the loss, the Giants would also lose as well, dropping the magic number to clinch the NL West to 5.

Earliest Possible Clinch Date, Tuesday , 9/23 against the Giants…

Magic Number Fun Fact …5

image Mike Marshall

Mike Marshall would play with the Dodgers from 1981-1988 mostly in right field. Though he would always be remembered for never reaching his full potential, once missing a game due to ” general soreness ” , Mike Marshall would have one of his finest seasons in 1988, leading the team in RBI’s with 82 ( Kirk Gibson finished behind Marshall ), also driving in 8 during the 1988 playoffs, including a huge 3 run home run in Game 2 of the World Series , as the Dodgers behind another masterful performance behind Orel Hershiser would shut out the heavily favored Oakland A’s, 6-0 , to take a commanding 2 games to none lead up to Oakland.

Wait. Did I just say that Kid Marly Marlz is mischivious ? Why he and Dave would make really good friends at least in this tale…

image

Why these two could not be so much alike if they even tried. Do you miss your Boyz, Dave ? They’ll be back home tomorrow night .

Kid Marlz will be happy to see you too, Dave. ( So thats where Drei’s old doo-rag went …) . What’s that Dave, you want The Kid to be decked out in all his blue ? Well…

Ballparks, Bytes and Bites, A Sunday Fun-Dre at The Park, From the 619

What up everyone ! We’re Baaaaaack !!! Kid Marly Marlz and DodgerDrei here, aka Kid N Drei, back here for one last edition, road edition at least, of Ballparks, Bytes, and Bites , this time coming to you from the 619. PETCO Park, San Diego, C-A. Of course, as always, BB&B….

MARLZ_BUBBLES_PETCO Featuring Kid Marly Marlz, of House Party fame ( I Think ) ready to throw a Foam Party. ( Something about Dodger Blue and Foam Parties)

Sunday, 8/31. On this, what Drei here likes to call, Sunday Fun-Dre , on this last Sunday Fun-Dre for summer 2014, Kid N Drei take to the road this time with our buddy Jose, aka JJ as we make the 2 hour plus trek down I-5 to PETCO Park in San Diego. Before heading south…

PORTOS

PORTOS_MINION We decide to make a quick stop for some morning munchies. Hey, can you blame our Pet Minion Dave (whom you will see later as well) for being so happy? After all, we’re grabbing them munchies from Porto’s . For those of you not familiar with Porto’s, perhaps these reviews may help . FYI, the reviews itself don’t say enough about Porto’s, and I’ve been told even from The Kid that I’m a tough critic…

PORTOS_CHEESEBALLS Porto’s famous potato cheeseballs and chicken croquets. To the surprise of Drei and JJ, Kid Marlz never knew of Porto’s before this day…

Kid Marlz: What’s Portos ?
Drei: Uh, Jose, did he just ask what is Portos ?
JJ: Uh, he did NOT just ask what Porto’s is…

After trying some of the munchie’s that DREI provided from Portos, KID !!!, it’s safe to say this won’t be the last time Kid Marlz will be munching from that ever so popular Cuban bakery…

PORTOS_KID Tell us what you really think Kid …

OK, time to head south, from the ” West-Side”, via the 405 to the 5…

DABOYS Hey look . Jose, aka JJ, has joined us today and will be the one putting up with Kid N Drei as he provides the ride behind the wheel. ( Sidenote folks, JJ has been putting up with Kid Marlz a lot longer than Drei…) Glad you could finally join us JJ !!! Off to Diego….

MARLZ_SAMMY_DODGERDOG Having fun back there kid ? Hey, what’s Sourdough Sam smoking back there ? Yes folks, that’s Sourdough Sam, the 49ERS mascot with our Dodger Dog keeping Kid Marly Marlz entertained. Now you all may be asking why is Sammy heading south with us. Well, believe it or not, Sammy does have a favorite Dodger that he does cheer for when his buddy Lou Seal is not looking. Who you may ask. Why none other than Matt Kemp, who also happens to be a huge 49ERS fan…

Matt Kemp, 49ers Hey, it’s that time of year Matt. Drei here thinks we’ll be singing WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US not only in February but also late October…

Road Games…

As we’re cruising down I-5 after breezing down the 405 through The OC ( Yes folks, it ACTUALLY is possible to breeze down 405 believe it or not…) , I bring up an old game that I used to play as a kid many many years ago. A game called, Out of State. It’s one of those classic road trip games you play with your buddies . Simple game really. All you do is call out an out-of state license plate that you see on the road and keep tabs among yourselves. Of course it’s a little harder to play these day’s with so many different license plate designs. ( Yeah, I’m that old folks. Drei here still remembers those blue license plates…) It was pretty close for the most part. Who won ?

JJ- 9
Drei- 7
Marlz- 2 ( The second was only because JJ and Drei felt sorry for Marlz we let him have North Carolina… Then again, Kid Marlz was probably having too much fun with his mascot buddies to be paying attention to out of state license plates…)

Almost There…

ARENA1

ARENA2 The San Diego Sports Arena. One time home to the Clippers before moving to L.A. in 1984. Gotta love that old-school feel .

Trolley1 Ready to board that trolley to PETCO. Uh, Marlz, what are you doing to The Mariner Moose ? Uh, Marlz, you’re not being very nice to the Friars spring training buddy… ( No harm was done to The Moose folks..)

Trolley2 Drei and The Boys using the trolley to get to PETCO. The SDMTS trolley really is a great way to go if you should ever venture south for a game…

Finally Arrived. Today’s Ballpark, PETCO Park

SDPETCO2 U.S. Marine Corps. A longstanding tradition for the local Marines to take in a Padres game on Military Sunday. Oh yeah, should you arrive early, you may want to check out this exhibit beneath the right field stands. San Diego has always been regarded as a town with heavy military ties…

SDPETCO3

SDPETCO4 Honoring those that serve

SDPETCO7 Our view later on in the game from the upper reaches behind home plate. Can’t beat that view, can we ? Hey, how about our first audio/video byte ? Here’s Matt Kemp, with a chance to give the Blue the lead, Top 5, With Drei and The Boys…

OK, I think it’s time to grab a Bite . Today’s Bite will be inside the Park . Today’s Bite, Hodad’s

SDPETCO6_HODADS Here’s The Hodad’s Lowdown . You might even get the latest surf report, dude…..

As JJ and I make our way toward Hodad’s and Kid Marlz was enjoying himself with some of his mascot buddies, we all decided upon the single bacon cheeseburger with all the fixens with fries ( For JJ ) and onion rings ( Drei ). Of course we were not going to leave Marlz to Wipe Out, dude, so of course we got him a single bacon cheeseburger as well… ( Whoa. Hodad’s got Drei talkin’ that surf talk. How are the waves at The Strand, Dude ? )

SDPETCO8 Must be nice to have your food brought to you kid ! Let’s see, earlier it was Porto’s, now Hodad’s. Must be nice living the life of a kid…KID !!! Care to Hang 10, dude ?

Hey Kid, as Drei here brings the next video byte, perhaps you’d like to give a review of Hodads ? Speaking of the next byte, Kid Marlz here isn’t the only one that act’s the part of the kid as Drei shows he can play as well. Heck, in this clip, as Matt Kemp is up in the top 8, Drei decide’s to bring in our guest from The Bay, Sourdough Sam !!!

20140831 151515 from Good_Drei on Vimeo.

Yeah, JJ and Drei also had rave rewiews for Hodad’s . Those were some big and tasty burgers. That was just the single patty bacon cheese piled high with all the fixings. I can only imagine what the double bacon cheese would be like for us big eaters. I also liked the fact they don’t skimp on the bacon bits, really enhancing the taste of our burgers. But on Drei’s scale of 5, Drei had to take one star away for this…

BEATLA Not on this day…

MINIONS Hey, Dave, our Pet Minion is back ! Dave seems to be having a great time down south on this last Sunday Fun-Dre of the summer, 2014…

OK. Back to the on-field action. It’s still the top of the 8th, and now Andre Ethier is at the plate pinch hitting for today’s starter Hyun-Jin Ryu. Drei hasn’t had much of a chance to call Dre’s action lately with him not getting much playing time. OK, Let’s check out this next clip. You’ll also see later in the clip Kid Marly Marlz getting the Foam Party started early …

With the game now comfortably in the hands of The Blue, Kid Marlz and his mascot buddies figure now is a good time for some good old fashion playtime. But before he does….

image
Kid Marlz got the bubbles going !!!

image
Oh look, Dave our Pet Minion this time trying to steal the spotlight from Kid Marlz, along with his Dodger Dog. Our Pet Minion Dave sure had a great time on the road with Kid Marlz. After all, he deserves a day of fun away from his home at a certain theme park in Universal City…

You know kid, there is A Park At The Park . We can all go there after the game…
image
Uh oh. Sammy and The Moose are about to go at it. The Moose didn’t care for Sammy’s comments about having 5 more Super Bowl titles than his favorite team. The Moose didn’t exactly care for Sammy calling his city Seadderall…

image
It looks like Sammy has taken down The Moose…

image
Yo Moose ! What’s up with you and Sammy ? Why do I have to seperate you two ? Can’t you two get along ?
image
You behave yo-self Moose…

Yo Marlz, as always, you seem to be having fun with your mascot buddies . You know you can take them with you to The Park at the Park after the game. But before we head to the Park at the Park, here’s one last audio/video byte from Drei. Top 9, Bison up one last time, and Sammy back to see his favorite Bison at the plate. Do Sammy and The Mariner Moose resolve their differences ? Also, a Cowboys fan also chimes in on with the NFL season opener getting close ( As you may have seen this past Sunday, talking bad about the 49ers, Matt Kemp’s favorite team, around Sammy, is never a good thing…)

Postgame, Park At The Park With Kid Marly Marlz and Friends.

wpid-20140831_163620.jpgOn this Labor Day weekend, we take time to honor those who serve. No matter what our political stance is especially on war, we still cannot deny the time and sacrifice they put in to protecting us. If only the government did more for not only those are currently serving but those who have served as well….

wpid-20140831_163442.jpgJJ and Marlz giving PETCO a touch of Blue…

wpid-20140831_163932.jpgPaying our respects to Mr. Padre , Tony Gwynn. He was a thorn to our side for many years, yet he played the game the right way. RIP Tony Gwynn…

wpid-20140831_163557.jpgKid N Drei turning PETCO, Blue. Our signature L.A. sign is backwards. That’s not the only thing that you will see backwards … OK, time to take the kid to The Park while the sun is still out…

wpid-20140831_164325.jpgWhy Kid, you got dem braids working. You even got your shirt on backward. Uh oh. Is it Kid Marlz or The Daddy Mack from Kris Kross ?

wpid-20140831_164346.jpg

wpid-20140831_164255.jpgYO, DADDY MACK ….

wpid-20140831_164815.jpgFinally . We’ve arrived at the Park at the Park. Kid Marlz is really excited to be here with his mascot buddies. Even The Swinging Friar, in spite of our Boys in Blue taking down his Friars earlier 7-1, joined Kid Marlz’ Foam Party with his other mascot buddies…

wpid-20140831_164818.jpgAnd in the back, as the kid blows away, Drei enjoys a good book…

wpid-20140831_164829.jpgUh, Kid. Don’t you think the other kids here at the park would like to join you and your mascot buddies in your Foam Party ?

wpid-20140831_164833.jpg Uh, Kid…

wpid-20140831_164835.jpgKid…

wpid-20140831_164837.jpgKID !!!

wpid-20140831_165014.jpgFinally the kid moves his Foam Party . And he still got the backward look on. With the braids to go with it, Drei is starting to think it was the Daddy Mack he took to the park . In the meantime, the mascot’s decided there’s a big playground for them to play around. I wonder if Sourdough Sam and The Mariner Moose have made up yet ….

Yup. Kid N Drei got all of SoCal covered this summer. In case you missed our previous adventures of BBB, here they are, from here in L.A. , to The O.C., and of course here in the 619 ( It really is hard to believe that one is in his early 30s and the other one is in his early 40s. But hey, I guess that’s how it goes when you’re at ballpark, a playground, and around those who believe their still kids at heart… ) Also, from Kid Marly Marlz… MARLZ_MEME1 MARLZ_MEME2 Don’t ever tell me I never “like” your stuff in instagram kid! All kidding aside, I just want you to know that a true like should always go beyond 2 taps on a screen , and Drei see’s a lot more in and ahead of you Kid. Allright kid, before we sign off, why don’t you tell us how it went down from the 213 to the 619 and back to the 213 as we cruise up 405 north with JJ behind the wheel. Oh yeah, speaking of JJ, I want to thank you Jose for not only driving us around today but for putting up for Kid N Drei as well, though you’ve put up with the kid a lot longer that Drei has. Drei is also glad you could FINALLY make it to a game with us. OK Kid ! Tell us how it went down… ( Warning . Some minor explicit words here. After all, this is a Big Kid we’re dealing with here… )

Kid Marly Marlz , Freestyle On The 405 from Drei</a> on Vimeo</a>.
As Drei said, you really got a lot more ahead of you… I hope you all enjoyed this light-hear-ted version of BBB with Kid N Drei . Oh yeah, here’s a more structured review of PETCO Park from Drei . Going on any other sports themed road trips ? Check us out at Stadium Journey for all your road trip tips. Will there be another BBB this season ?
